TUESDAY to Saturday AT 8pm
FLECK DANCE THEATRE, HARBOURFRONT CENTRE
Persefony Songs riffs on images from Christopher House's acclaimed choreography Persephone’s Lunch (2001), extending and reimagining its rich vocabulary to create a new work of unabashedly sensual beauty. The work, inspired by Homer’s The Odyssey, exhibits House’s ongoing exploration of the creative process, memory, fate and the expressive potential of the human body, in a highly theatrical and powerful journey.
With a dream cast of twelve dancers and six musicans onstage, Persefony Songs features a lush new musical score by music director Thom Gill and the “breezy, whimsical and delightful” indie band, Bernice (NOW Magazine).
Part of TDT’s Reimagining Repertoire project, supported by the Metcalf Foundation.
