TDT will be participating in Fall for Dance North’s 5th anniversary festival! We’ll be performing Hanna Kiel’s captivating work GH 5.0 which originally premiered in TDT’s 50th anniversary production Glass Fields (2018). Featuring live music composed by Greg Harrison for this special FFDN presentation, GH 5.0 is a physically powerful and energetic work created in response to Christopher House’s Glass Houses (1983). The full festival runs from October 2 to 6.
Emerging Voices Project
December 9 - 20, 2019
Nine emerging contemporary choreographers working in any form will join mentor/facilitators Ame Henderson and Christopher House, rehearsal director Rosemary James, and TDT’s company dancers for our biennial choreographic residency at the Winchester Street Theatre. Over the two weeks, each choreographer will spend approximately twelve hours engaged in choreographic research with the support of two dancers; the object of this research is to explore personal artistic questions and plant seeds for future development rather than focus on finished work. In addition, choreographers will participate in morning practice sharing, group discussions, showings, walking conversations with colleagues, and individual sessions with mentors. Applications are now closed.
January 28, 29 & 30, and February 4 & 5
Every year, TDT opens its doors to students for our signature outreach program, Studio Series! Designed to give a taste of dance from both sides of the curtain, students watch a performance before heading into the studio for a dance workshop with TDT dancers. A perfect introduction to contemporary dance. Click here to learn more about Studio Series and other outreach initiatives.
