The FIFTH DECADE

2008 - 2017

TDT's fifth decade has seen the company grow in exciting new directions. A renewed commitment to research and shared learning has changed the working culture of the company, giving the performers a greater role in the creative process and attracting a younger, more diverse audience. New works by Christopher House and leading choreographers from Berlin, Paris, Brussels, New York and Toronto, including post-modern icon Deborah Hay, have enriched the company's repertoire and led to new approaches to performance. The Winchester St. Theatre has become increasingly important as a site for innovative projects including commissions from visual artists, writers and theatre directors that have expanded our definition of choreography, while several projects with emerging artists have supported a new generation of creators. There is much to celebrate in this 50th anniversary year, and, with an exciting array of new commissions in the works, much to look forward to in the future.
